Gettys ONE was engaged by LQ Management to redesign their flagship urban property in Downtown Chicago. With the introduction of a second-floor lobby bar, the design team established a concept deeply rooted in Chicago history. Upon entering the lobby, guests are met by a colorful mural of the Chicago skyline. Other design moments of this Chicago hotel renovation include local artwork throughout the public areas, and a muted color palette that is inspired by the area’s naval history. A custom reception desk and feature wall recall the line work of Chicago’s maritime past, and the guestrooms were designed to incorporate an elevated version of the prototypical La Quinta Guestroom packages.
We’re proud to announce that our design for La Quinta Inn & Suites Chicago Downtown is a finalist for a 2018 Gold Key Award for Excellence in Hospitality Design for Best Lobby, Focused Service. Our design for the hotel’s lobby elevates the public space with modern check-in counters, comfortable seating areas and communal gathering tables with charging stations where guests can connect—all surrounded by vibrant cityscapes. The new design gives La Quinta guests the best of both worlds: the high quality of La Quinta hospitality standards, as well as engaging, customized interiors developed by the Gettys ONE team to infuse the space with the quintessential downtown Chicago experience.
